Unemployed Nerd Chronicles - Day 2: Mass Effects

I mentioned in Day 1 how I purchased the Ultimate Edition of Dragon Age: Origins to get all the DLC, but it also included a code for a special in-game item in Mass Effect 2, the infamous Blood Dragon Armor. I bought the copy of Dragon Age Used, but it still had the page with the code in the box...and thankfully hadn't been redeemed, so lucky me.

So I followed the instructions and created a bioware/EA account but had no way of adding my Xbox gamertag to the account. And going in Mass Effect 2, I had no way to specify what account to login to. After a lot of fiddling with EA/Bioware's site and Pressing random buttons in Mass Effect 2, I realized what was wrong. I bought Mass effect 2 over a year ago I'm betting, and when I created the account initially, I used a fake e-mail address ending in @ihateyou.com (oh yeah, sticking to the man) . So I had been playing it now almost a year later and totally forgot all that, I had been buying all the DLC, all tagged to this account I had no way of ever getting to. So I had to call customer service and go through all the hoops to get a real person, first their phone system was down, but third try I got through, explained my situation and am now waiting for the problem to get fixed. Of course while I've been waiting, I played that last bit of DLC. When my problem is all solved I will have no game left to play, but I imagine I will go through it again right before Mass Effect 3 comes out in November.

The "Overlord" mission was pretty cool, I had to investigate a rouge AI program gone wrong, but turned out it was a Human intelligence plugged into the computer system, I got to use the Hover tank to go around a bit and do some platforming type stuff, more twists in the story, some gun battling where I got to try out the new guns from the other DLC I purchased. Turned out to be a nice 3 or so hour chunk of gameplay and story, well worth the 5 or 6 bucks it cost me.

The only other nerd stuff I got to do was start reading the 'Axe Cop' TPB that my buddy Chad lent me, and its pretty fun so far. Its a character and story created by a 5 year old, but drawn by his pro comic artist brother. You can check it out at http://www.axecop.com/ . Its pretty hilarious, randomness on a lot of levels, but also an interesting view on how a 5 year old sees the world and the kind of imagination you have as a child. Highly recommended and can't wait to read more of it tomorrow

The rest of Day 2 consisted of shoveling snow off of a roof, drinking, eating pizza, and peeing in the snow...so nothing of interest. Oh I did pre-order Dragon Age 2 and You Don't Know Jack while I was out. See you all tomorrow for When I actually go get the new You Don't Know Jack right as Gamestop opens.
