Quick Hit: Why Do Health Insurance Reform?
Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 10:05PM In the last 2 years things have changed we're in a recession(economic downturn) and in a lot of trouble economically so priorities are different. The government should be looking at things like cutting spending and creating an economic landscape in which businesses can thrive, but I don't think we're currently doing either of those things.
For Health Care the only reason to change anything would be to increase Availability, decrease Cost, or increase Quality. Availability is what they are selling, that if this passes and everyone will be able to get Health Insurance. But all projections have shown that we will spend all this money and raise taxes and the bill won't even cover all the people w/o Insurance. This bill claims it will decrease cost, but they don't actually know that. The President has said himself that Premiums would go up, we will suddenly be covering more people and people who could be at higher risk, so if Health Insurance is to survive premiums will go up. This bill doesn't increase Quality in any way, because doctors will not magically become better doctors.
Side Note: This bill costs upwards of a trillion dollars. We would spend less money on this if we kept everything the same and just paid for all the people who don't have health insurance.

The person medical insurance is the best option for those who are self-employed or whose employer does not provide them with protection of wellness. The person medical insurance can provide protection for either the covered alone or for the covered and his or her family.
